A highly regarded violin pedagogue, Olga Dubossarskaya Kaler joined the violin faculty of the DePaul University School of Music in 2004. She currently serves as Associate Professor of Violin, teaching Applied Violin, String Pedagogy and Orchestral Repertoire classes. Dr. Kaler recently published her first book "An Effective Method for Teaching and Studying Violin Technique". Her previous teaching positions include Hochstein School of Music in Rochester, as well as regular invitations to teach violin sections of the Syracuse Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Rochester Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra. Dr. Kaler is highly sought out as a youth competitions judge, and she frequently presents masterclasses at schools and music festivals all over the country. She appeared as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician and a teacher at the Skaneateles Music Festival, NY, Montreal Chamber Music Festival in Canada, Steamboat Springs Chamber Festival in Colorado, Athens Music Festival in Greece, Villa Musica and Schleswig-Holstein Festivals in Germany. Dr. Kaler holds a Doctor of Music degree from the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music, and degrees from the New England Conservatory of Boston, the Moscow State Conservatory and the Stolyarsky Special Music School for Gifted Children in Odessa, Ukraine. Major teachers include Professors Almita Vamos, Nelli Shkolnikova, Benjamin Mordkovich, Naoum Latinsky, Inna Gaukhman, James Buswell and Sergei Kravtchenko.
